The Care Net is a scheme of pastoral care,
which has been running in our church for nearly six years. It is organised
by two coordinators, under the care and guidance of the vicar.
Small groups of regular attenders at St Mary`s are allocated contacts
who are arranged in pairs. As far as possible, groups consist of
members who attend the same service or meetings or live in the same area
as the
contact.
Contacts are first and foremost available to members of their group
as Christian friends, willing to give support, help, or information
should
the need arise, and to pray for their members on a regular basis. In
the same way, the coordinators are available to the contacts and
they are requested
to keep the coordinators informed of any problems or concerns within
their group.
The scheme runs smoothly at St Mary`s and most people are pleased that
there is someone within the congregation on whom they can call for
help or support.
Another benefit of the Care Net scheme is that new friendships have
developed within the fellowship of the church.
