One
thing, which is very difficult, is to write about yourself. I can
tell you all about my family and this is what I would like to do.
However I will start with the line I was born in Liverpool at a
very early age. My mother was born in Liverpool also, but my father
was from a very different line of descent and was born in Edinburgh.
From my father I gained three things one was the love of all things
north of Northumberland, the other was a love of the sea, but the
third was the ability to argue about anything at any time. The first
two made me restless, the third made me impossible to live with.
I now live in Beverley, but I work in Hull for Kingston
upon Hull Council training Foster Carers for their NVQ qualifications.
I started my working life in a small office in Manchester as a fill
in job until I was able to train as a nurse, my 'real' job that
I left when my children came along.
I have 4 children Andrew 28, Elisabeth 27, Anna 22
and David 16. I also have a husband Mike and these are the people
who will testify that I am difficult to live with. My rôle at St
Mary's is that of Lay Reader within the Church of England, although
I am also a Reader in the Church of Scotland, having spent 22 years
of my life in Aberdeenshire. I have just completed a Degree in Theology,
so now I have something to argue about.
Within St Mary's I also look after the Young People's
work which is very challenging.
That about sums me up.
I have found that being on this web site I have had
old friends contact me which has been a great joy, also people in
the USA with the same surname, some of whom have been to visit.
I love the idea of reaching out to people in this way although I
don't check my home EMail as much as I should! Do keep trying!
