The Tower Bells

The bell ringing chamber may be found by climbing some 80 steps up the tower!

The photograph is of the Joan Castle Memorial Trophy. This is awarded to the tower whose representative band of members has successfully completed the most quarter peals in the previous twelve months. For the year 2000, there was a three-way tie; St Mary's at present holding it for four months.

The 'A' band entered the Annual Striking Competition, winning the Albert Sellers' Trophy in July 2001. As yet, there is not a photograph of the trophy to accompany this report. The band has been competing since 1990, winning seven times and has been placed second three times and third once.
