Holy Trinity Chapel

This Chapel, now used as the Choir Vestry, was built over the crypt in the last quarter of the thirteenth century. A fine view into the chancel is available from this chapel.

The Chapel is entered by a gateway of early sixteenth century design.

The tracery of the windows is of the geometrical decorated pattern.

The position of the piscina to the right of the east window indicates that originally the floor level was intended to be lower.

The roof is a particularly fine example of early sixteenth century woodwork. It contains many interesting bosses, e.g., a fox in a pulpit preaching to geese, a miller on his horse, emblems of the four evangelists in the centre beam, and of four minstrels on the west side.
