The Memorial Gardens are situated at the eastern end of the church, with access from Hengate, holding a memorial to the service men and women who lost their lives in the First World War. It provides a fine view of St Mary's church from an attractive oasis of peace, despite the proximity of busy Hengate to the left of the pictures..
